Program Notes:
This composition became an opportunity for me to explore polyrhythmic structures (triplets in the right hand over a syncopated left hand ostinato), more dissonant harmonic structures than I’d previously used, and lengthening and shortening phrase lengths for dramatic impact and sweep.
