Program Notes:
I composed this piece for a lark, perhaps (although this may just be in my imagination) after hearing the nautical-style music from Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” one too many times. It’s a hoot, although unexpectedly difficult for the performers – who knew that it was hard for cellists and clarinetists to play fast ornaments in their absolute top register? Not me!
